The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) slammed senatorial candidate Alexander Vindman for supposedly using an Arizona address to file for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Florida.

“Florida is not a vacation rental for Alexander Vindman’s national political ambitions. If he wants to represent Floridians, he should start by living here and learning the state he claims to seek to serve," Florida GOP Chairman Evan Power said in a release. "Arizona does not need a third Senator, and Florida does not need a confused carpetbagger searching for his next political landing spot.”

Vindman announced his candidacy earlier this week. A retired colonel in the U.S. Army and former National Security Council aide, Vindman became a household name after playing a key role in President Donald Trump's first impeachment in 2020.

The RPOF called Vindman a "traitor" and a "puppet" for his role in a previous release.

Vindman testified before Congress about President Trump's 2019 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in which Trump was accused of holding $400 million in congressionally approved military aid to pressure Zelenskyy into an investigation into then-President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

In a video ad launching his campaign, Vindman slammed Trump as a "wannabe tyrant."

According to a report, Vindman has already raised $1.7 million in his campaign bid. His candidacy also got a bit of a boost after the dropout of Jennifer Jenkins, who endorsed him in her withdrawal announcement.

Vindman's current competition for the seat is now Rep. Angie Nixon (D-Jacksonville), who announced her bid earlier this month. The winner will likely face off against Sen. Ashley Moody (R) in the general election.

"Floridians expect candidates who live here, know our communities, and respect this state enough to show up. They are not looking for Lt. Col. Insubordinate Vindman parachuting in from across the country to launch another self-serving political stunt," the RPOF added.
