Florida Senator Ashley Moody (R) made a recent appearance in Doral, Florida, standing in support of the local Venezuelan community.

“After more than two decades under an authoritarian regime, Venezuelan families finally woke up to the news they’ve waited years to hear—Nicolas Maduro, an illegitimate dictator, wanted criminal and narco-terrorist, has been captured and will be held accountable,” Sen. Moody remarked.

U.S. military forces and federal law enforcement arrested disputed Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and extracted him from Caracas in a joint operation.

Prosecutors charged Maduro and his wife with multiple felonies, including narco-terrorism conspiracy, cocaine importation conspiracy, possession of machine guns and destructive devices, and conspiracy to possess machine guns and destructive devices against the United States.

“The world is safer today. Florida is safer today. Our kids are safer today. Thank you, President Trump, Secretary Rubio, Secretary Hegseth, and the brave law enforcement officers and service members who made this possible,” Moody concluded.

The Florida Senator has been a heavy, outspoken critic of the Venezuelan regime and narcoterrorism at the hands of Maduro and his government-affiliated cartels.

Being Florida’s freshman Senator, Moody has already made heavy strides in aiding to topple the Venezuelan regime with various pieces of legislation aiming to end the Venezuelan drug trade and cartels.

She previously cosponsored the Stop Maduro Act and the BOLIVAR Act – one bill raised the bounty on information leading to Maduro’s arrest to $100,000,000, while the other prohibits all federal agencies from doing business with anyone that supports the Maduro regime.

Last September, Moody promoted these measures and more at a roundtable meeting with law enforcement officials and Venezuelan American leaders.
