Republican congressional candidate and former member of the Florida House of Representatives, George Moraitis, announced that his campaign raised over $106,000 in the third quarter of 2025, bringing his total raised to more than $485,000 since entering the race last March.
Florida’s 23rd Congressional District, the district Moraitis aims to win, is a key target for Florida Republicans as it has been a Democratic Party stronghold since in 2002.
Moraitis places at the top of the field among Republican candidates for Florida’s 23rd Congressional District with a strong showing and stable funding.
“This momentum reflects the strong support our campaign is earning across South Florida,” said Moraitis in a press release. “Voters are ready for a conservative leader who will fight for taxpayers, protect our freedoms, and stand up to the big-government pushed by DC Democrats. I’m deeply grateful for the confidence and support of so many friends and neighbors who share our vision for a stronger, more prosperous America.”
The Republican candidate has received endorsements from local leaders as well as fellow Republican Representative Greg Steube. Â
Moraitis has also received praise from local communities, with donors committed “to restoring fiscal discipline, expanding economic opportunity, and defending constitutional principles.”
“As someone who has served both in uniform and in public office, I know that leadership means putting service before self,” Moraitis added. “The people of Broward and Palm Beach Counties deserve a representative who will listen, lead with integrity, and work tirelessly to get results.”
Democrats have historically represented Florida’s 23rd Congressional District, and Rep. Jared Moskowitz has held the seat since 2022. The Parkland Democrat feels pressure from the Florida GOP and believes he is “absolutely going to get targeted.”
Rep. Moskowitz is adamant that the Florida GOP will redraw district lines before the 2026 election in a bid to break the Democrat hold on the already highly contested 23rd District.
