In a recent appearance on Fox Business' Varney & Co., Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) vowed to end illegal immigration "once and for all" in response to a new report about deportation numbers.
A Department of Homeland Security (DHS) report from late September revealed that approximately 400,000 illegal aliens have been deported and an estimated 1.6 million have voluntarily self-deported since President Donald Trump took office, meaning that in just nine months, 2 million illegals have already left the United States.
"The President was not playing games," Rep. Donalds commented. "He was telling the American people the truth: We are going to send a lot of people home. Criminal illegal aliens, they are going home. They are not staying in the United States."
Rep. Donalds further suggested that "it makes a lot of sense" that nearly 2 million have chosen to self-deport, and "they were let in because Joe Biden opened up our borders so recklessly."
"He was using parole and these other schemes that Democrats fully support," the Florida Congressman continued. "It has been overwhelming to local districts, local cities, local counties, and states, and so these numbers are indicative of the change in policy that Donald Trump promised the American people, and the American people voted for it, so we are going to stay consistent."
Donalds concluded by declaring that he would "continue to do the job of getting criminal illegal aliens out of this country and ending this scourge of illegal immigration once and for all in the United States of America."
The deportation numbers come as House Republicans continue to accuse Democrats of keeping the federal government shut down to provide healthcare for illegal aliens.
Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) recently suggested that "any Democrat that tells you illegal aliens don’t receive Medicaid benefits is flat out LYING."
