Representative Jimmy Patronis (R-FL) has issued a response to Alphabet, the company that runs Google and YouTube, admitting that the Biden Administration pressured them to censor conservative opinions.
Fox News provides more details, describing how the Biden Administration requested that Alphabet permanently ban content creators such as FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, podcaster Steve Bannon, and White House counterterrorism chief Sebastian Gorka for questioning COVID-19 policies and the results of the 2020 Election.
"Senior Biden Administration officials, including White House officials, conducted repeated and sustained outreach to Alphabet and pressed the Company regarding certain user-generated content related to the COVID-19 pandemic that did not violate its policies," a lawyer with Alphabet said.
Additionally, banned YouTube channels would be allowed to return to the site.
"What we all suspected is now confirmed!" Rep. Patronis shared on social media. "The Biden administration silenced free speech, pushed DEI agendas, and wasted your hard-earned tax dollars. I would say make it make sense, but we all know it doesn't."

Republicans have long sounded the alarm on censorship of conservative viewpoints by Big Tech in arm with the Biden Administration.
In November 2023, Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL) discussed an extensive report issued by the House Weaponization Committee which suggested that the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) collaborated with a group named the Election Integrity Partnership (EIP) to scour social media for 'disinformation' which could frequently be simple jokes, opinions, and verifiably factual news.
However, in June 2024, the Supreme Court ruled against a lawsuit filed by Missouri and Louisiana regarding censorship, arguing that the two states lacked legal standing, which was fiercely criticized by Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL).
In August, Rep. Patronis introduced House Resolution 4873, which codifies an executive order issued by President Donald Trump ordering that artificial intelligence (AI) used by the federal government could not be trained according to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) guidelines or any ideological leaning, instead making use of unbiased, error-free calculations.
