The Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police has closed its criminal probe into Representative Cory Mills (R-FL) for allegations of domestic violence that began in February.
As The Floridian previously reporte, Rep. Mills was accused of physically assaulting Sarah Raviani during an alledged heated argument.
However, Raviani herself denied that an attack took place, and Rep. Mills said in March that the incident had been politicized."
"Recently, the media publicized false accusations about me related to an alleged personal incident. While this is a private issue, it has unfortunately been turned into something of a salacious attack," said Rep. Mills.
"I want to make it clear that I have been separated for many years and working through divorce proceedings for the last two years," the Florida Congressman continued, adding, "My separation and ongoing divorce proceedings are also a private matter and should not be politicized."
The Metropolitan Police nevertheless opened an investigation, but according to an email exchange between an MPD investigator and Mills' legal counsel obtained , the investigation is now closed.
"I would like to thank the Metro Police Department for their diligent investigation into false and misleading accusations made against me by the media, ensuring that both truth and justice prevailed," Mills told The Hill. "The media's claims and political spins have been debunked, and the case is closed. It's blatantly obvious that some have attempted to over-politicize this to impact the 2026 election, but these efforts have failed."
Additionally, Mills reiterated, "I remain committed to serving Florida's 7th District, where I've led the state of Florida in constituent services, returning $76,000,566 to our residents."
"I want to thank my constituents and all who have offered their ongoing support, and I look forward to continuing this hard work fighting for every single American," Mills concluded.
