At the state level, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier continues to pursue criminals who break Florida law, and at the federal level, former Florida Attorney General and current U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi also continues her efforts to reduce the crime that has been gripping Washington, D.C.
Over 300 arrests in D.C. — and counting," stated Attorney General Bondi. "Just last night, our federal and DC law enforcement partners made 68 arrests and seized 15 illegal firearms. Homicide suspects, drug traffickers, and more are being charged. I’ll continue to stand with you as we make DC safe again!"
Bondi's statement comes on the heels of the Trump administration's recent announcement that it would be mobilizing the local National Guard to help local law enforcement deal the the crime epidemic that has gripped the nation's capit0l.
“As President of the United States and Commander in Chief of the District of Columbia National Guard, it is my solemn duty to protect law-abiding citizens from the destructive forces of criminal activity. Pursuant to my authority under the Constitution and laws of the United States and the District of Columbia, I direct the Secretary of Defense to mobilize the District of Columbia National Guard and order members to active service, in such numbers as he deems necessary, to address the epidemic of crime in our Nation’s capital,” White House officials said.
