President Donald Trump endorsed Florida Republican Sen. Ashley Moody for a full term in the U.S. Senate on Thursday.
"Senator Moody is doing a tremendous job representing the incredible people of Florida, a State I love, and won BIG, in 2016, 2020, and 2024," Trump said on Truth Social. "A fifth-generation Floridian, Ashley served as State Attorney General for six years prior to becoming a very distinguished and well-respected U.S Senator."
Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Sen. Moody to the U.S. Senate in January to replace Marco Rubio, who had left to become secretary of state. She previously served as Florida's Attorney General from 2019 to 2025.
"Ashley is working tirelessly to Grow our Economy, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Champion American Energy DOMINANCE, Help Secure our already Secure Southern Border, Stop Migrant Crime, Murders, and other Criminals from illegally entering our Country, Strengthen our Great Military/Veterans, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment," Trump continued. "Ashley has my Complete and Total Endorsement - SHE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN!"
Sen. Moody thanked Trump for his endorsement in a press statement.
"I am honored by the endorsement of President Donald Trump as we work together to bring America into the Golden Age and deliver the America First agenda," Moody said. "We finally have a leader back in the White House to secure the border, fight the opioid epidemic, implement the largest tax cut for the working class in HISTORY, and prioritize Americans’ safety and prosperity."
Moody, a Trump ally, is the only major Republican in the race. Josh Weil, who ran unsuccessfully for Florida's 6th Congressional District, is running on the Democratic ticket.
"As Attorney General of Florida, I defended President Trump against weaponized lawfare, and as your newest United States Senator I won't ever back down from standing for what is right, ensuring government answers and works for THE PEOPLE, and Making America Great Again," Moody added.
The U.S. Senate special election is set for Nov. 3, 2026.
