Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) condemned Democratic silence about an attack on Customs and Immigration Enforcement (ICE) agents in Alvarado, Texas, during a recent appearance on Fox Business's Evening Edit, saying it was effectively a form of support for the violence.

Ten people were arrested for shooting at ICE agents in front of a detention center for illegal aliens on July 4th after luring them out with fireworks and vandalizing vehicles. Approximately 20-30 rounds were fired, hitting a local police officer in the neck, who fortunately survived.

The host asked Rep. Donalds why Democrats are not speaking about the attack, to which he said, "They are silent on it because they want ICE disbanded. They frankly agree with ICE agents being attacked, and this is how reprehensible the radical Democratic left has become."

"They would rather see agents who are out there just doing their job on behalf of the American people," Rep. Donalds continued, "because the American people gave Donald Trump a mandate for ICE to deport illegal aliens out of the United States. That is a fact. And because they cannot abide by the will of the people, they think it is okay to attack these agents."

After all, the Florida Congressman pointed out, ICE is composed of men and women of all races, and morale is currently high because "they are allowed to do their job by Donald Trump."

"And so the radical left does not like that," said Donalds, "and since they cannot win politically, now they are going to resort to violence. But I know Donald Trump has their back, and we have their back. These agents need to be protected. They are just doing their job, and these ten need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

The Alvarado incident was followed shortly after by another attack in McAllen, Texas, where a lone gunman named Ryan Louis Mosqueda opened fire on ICE agents, who were forced to return fire, killing him.
