The Miami Young Republicans have endorsed Jose Francisco Regalado for City of Miami Commissioner, District 4.
"As Miami faces critical decisions about safety, infrastructure, and accountability, the Miami YRs are standing behind a proven public servant who embodies steady, solutions-focused leadership," the Miami Young Republicans said.
The Miami Young Republicans (MYR) added Regalado's "executive experience in Miami government" to their support.
"From leading emergency response efforts to modernizing building safety, he’s delivered results where they matter most—on our streets, in our homes, and across the neighborhoods he proudly calls home," the MYR added.
The Miami District 4 seat is open after the passing of longtime Commissioner Manolo Reyes. The district includes Coral Gate, Shenandoah, and Flagami.
Regalado's main competition for the seat is Ralph Rosado. While a special election is set for June 3, the soap opera has already started, an all but common theme in Miami-Dade politics.
In its latest chapter, both Regalado and Rosado have claimed support from the Miami Police Department. Officially, Rosado has been endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) while Regalado is backed by the Police Benevolent Association (PBA).
The FOP represents officers of the City of Miami. The PBA represents some law enforcement agencies in South Florida.
Moreover, the MYR said Regalado would bring "trusted, principled leadership" to the District 4 seat. They also said he would strengthen public safety and disaster readiness across neighborhoods and prioritize "resilient infrastructure, affordable housing, and government transparency."
"Jose Regalado's candidacy is rooted in action, accountability, and advocacy. His deep ties to the community and track record of service offer a stronger future for District 4," the MYR continued.
