DeSantis Calls State Rep. Alex Andrade a 'Jackass'
Over the past couple of years, Rep. Alex Andrade has carried Gov. Ron DeSantis water on several issues, in particularly the dopey defamation bill against media outlets.
The two former amigos were hellbent (probably still are) on making it easier to sue media outlets of all sizes, but the bromance ended when Rep. Andrade decided to take on Hope Florida and the shadiness it was involved with during the 2024 presidential elections.
DeSantis called Andrade a "Jackass" at a recent press conference for dropping off evidence he had against Hope Florida to a local prosecutor.
Not sure what is wrong with that because how else would prosecutors know if a crime (if any) has been committed?
Its like an anonymous tip. Its up to police and state attorneys to decide if they are going to pursue it.
An investigation is currently underway on Hope Florida, but if nothing wrong was done, what harm has been done?
Let the legal process play out, right?
Wasn't it DeSantis who said that the we should allow the legal process against President Donald Trump lay out back in 2023?
Alex Andrade: I want to publicly apologize to @GovRonDeSantis for hurting his feelings by… (checking notes) handing over evidence of criminal activity to law enforcement…
My heart bleeds for you Governor…
Ron DeSantis: Swatting is a tactic of cowards who use fake reports to law enforcement to harass people who they disagree with politically. Today, Florida gets even tougher on swatting.
To increase penalties for swatting, I signed HB 279, which introduces felony charges for individuals who make false 911 reports that result in significant harm. Offenders with two or more convictions for unauthorized use of emergency communications services will also face felony charges, regardless of whether significant harm resulted from their habitual false reporting.
If you try this in our state, you will face punishment.
