Floridians have the option to head to the polls and vote early in a pair of Congressional districts and a handful of state Senate and House special primaries on Saturday.

Here are the races:

Congressional District 1: Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis is the Republican candidate against Democratic candidate Gay Valimont. CD 1 includes Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa counties and a portion of Walton County on the Florida Panhandle.

The seat was previously held by U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz before he ultimately resigned to run for Florida Attorney General. It also is reliably red, with Rep. Gaetz defeating Valimont by 32 points last November.

Congressional District 6: Republican and current state Sen. Randy Fine is facing off against Democratic candidate Joshua Weil. CD 6 includes Flagler, Putnam, Lake, St. Johns and Marion counties on Florida's northeast coast.

The seat was previously held by U.S. Rep. Michael Waltz, who resigned to become President Trump's National Security Advisor. Like CD 1, it also is reliably red, having voted for Waltz by 33 points over Democratic challenger James Stockton last November.

Notably, CD 6 was previously represented by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis from 2013-2018.

State Senate District 19: The Republican primary pits Debbie Mayfield, Tim Thomas, Mark Lightner III and Marcie Adkins. Mayfield, who currently represents House District 32, may have the edge after being endorsed by Republican Sen. Rick Scott. The eventual winner will face off against Democratic candidate Vance Ahrens.

SD 19 includes part of Brevard County on the east coast of Central Florida.

House District 3: Good luck picking the Republican winner in this primary. Eight candidates are vying to face Democrat Dondre Wise in the special election. HD 3 includes Santa Rosa and Okaloosa County on the Florida Panhandle.

Another reliably red area, HD 3 was won by Republican Joel Rudman by 57 points over Democratic candidate Keith Ellis Gillum, so it's fair to say whoever comes out of the Republican primary has a distinct advantage here.
