President Donald Trump is advocating for the election of Florida Sate Senator Randy Fine (R) in the upcoming special election for the US’ House of Representatives 6th Florida seat.
The special election is occurring due to the vacancy caused by former Representative Mike Waltz (R-FL) becoming President Trump’s National Security Advisor.
Trump claimed Fine has his “Complete and Total Endorsement for Congress,” and encouraged Florida voters to “GET OUT AND VOTE EARLY FOR RANDY!”
Election day will be April 2nd, 2025 and early voting will run from March 22, 2025, to March 29, 2025.
“A highly successful, Harvard educated businessman, and greatly respected State Legislator, Randy has been a tremendous Voice for MAGA,” continued Trump.
Thanking Trump, Fine encouraged Republicans to “Swamp the Vote” in an election that could influence the balance of power in Congress.
Fine will be facing off against Democrat Joshua Weil, a public school teacher who has never held public office.
Democrats have reportedly poured millions of dollars into Weil’s campaign.
“We’re launching a canvass. Hitting the streets. Knocking doors. Connecting with voters across Deland. This is how we get out the vote. This is how we win,” said Weil after an event with Democratic National Committee Vice Chair David Hogg.
Democrats’ prospects of winning the seat are at best unlikely, at worst impossible as Representative Waltz last won the seat by a nearly 35% margin.
Despite the increased likelihood of victory, Fine has heavily campaigned for the seat and attacked Weil for his progressive policy stances and Islamic beliefs.
Weil raised eyebrows for confrontational Muslim statements he made while running for US senate in 2022 as well as for being suspended for allegedly physically assaulting one of his students.
Moreover, Weil made headlines when one of his campaign workers was arrested for stealing a bicycle.
