Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) declared that the ongoing attempt to resolve the reconciliation bill between the House and Senate will "work itself out" in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Kudlow with Representative Pat Fallon (R-TX), adding that "Republicans should be and will be united."
Substitute host David Asman noted that while the House continues seeing a "big beautiful bill," the Senate prefers splitting the reconciliation package into two bills.
Rep. Steube acknowledged the difference but added, "Our chairman in the [House] Ways and Means Committee has been very firm that we want to do one big beautiful bill like the President has talked about. I think, from a procedural standpoint, that will certainly be easier. The budget resolution passed the House Budget Committee last week, so now we will go to the floor when we get back into Washington next week and hopefully pass that budget resolution on the floor."
After speaking with Rep. Fallon on Democrats' attempts to subvert President Donald Trump's agenda, especially the work of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Asman turned back to Rep. Steube, saying that because the Democrats are determined to stop Trump, it is important for the House and Senate Republicans to work together in implementing the President's agenda.
The Florida Congressman agreed, suggesting that "this will work itself out."
"Republicans should be and will be united. I was actually very surprised, pleasantly surprised, that the budget resolution passed the committee unanimously on the Republican side. It was a split party-line vote, so that shows that we are here to deliver on President Trump's agenda. Obviously, everybody has different ideas of what that looks like, but if the President said, 'This is exactly what I want,' and has a press conference, and we all come together behind what that looks like. But getting into the weeds and getting the details can be a challenge," Steube concluded.
