President-elect Donald Trump vowed to bring global peace upon his return to office in Phoenix over the weekend. In a Sunday appearance on Fox News, Representative Brian Mast (R-FL) said such a feat had "better than ever" chances. Mast added that global leaders recognize that "they can try President Trump, but they are absolutely rolling the dice."
Rep. Mast, who is set to become the new Chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said the odds of the President-elect fulfilling his promise were good because "the President brings something to foreign policy that the previous administration does not bring, and that is simply this: His yes is yes, and his no is no. And leaders around the globe, they know that; they recognize that, and all of the foreign intelligence agencies advise their leaders that they can try President Trump, but they are absolutely rolling the dice."
The host noted that the Biden Administration has attempted to moderate the State of Israel in its war effort against Hamas and Hezbollah, pushing for a ceasefire only for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to refuse, crippling the two terrorist organizations and their sponsor Iran.
As Representative Mike Waltz (R-FL) previously said earlier in December, Rep. Mast suggested Netanyahu deserved the credit for his actions.
Focusing on Iran specifically, the host said the Islamic Republic's fate looks uncertain as pressure continues to build with the loss of its proxies and allies, such as Bashar al-Assad, asking the Florida Congressman about the country's future.
"The future is this," Mast replied, "They have to push for all hostages to be returned from any proxy of theirs that is holding them. They have to recognize that they cannot keep the lights on in their own country. Their money is no good, which means they cannot support Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. If they cannot keep the lights on, they cannot refine the oil that they are sending to China, four to six million barrels of oil a day. They cannot produce the drones that they are producing to send to the Russia-Ukraine battlefield, and they cannot keep their nuclear infrastructure."
Mast further suggested that "what is taking place there is reshaping battlefields across the globe." Finally, he concluded that President Trump will maintain pressure on Iran because "that is where we stand on terrorists as Americans: on their throat."
