PALM BEACH, FL—In a contentious state House race in South Florida's HD 94, The Floridian has learned that top political consultant Anthony Pedicini is no longer working on businessman Anthony Aguirre's campaign.
Aguirre, who is currently in second place fundraising-wise, did not respond to a request for comment. Nor did Pedicini's consulting partner, Tom Piccolo.
This comes weeks before the Republican primary on August 20th, in which Aguirre, a businessman, must fend off nuclear engineer Christian Acosta, local Executive Committee member Gabrielle Fox, and the Trump-endorsed Meg Weinberger—an animal advocate and party frontrunner.
All are vying for the heavily red seat previously occupied by the termed-out Rep. Rick Roth. The winner will face former Palm Beach Gardens Mayor Rachelle Litt, the sole Democratic candidate, on November 5th.
Pedicini, meanwhile, ran the Tampa-based GOP consulting firm with his partner Piccolo, which has worked with top Republicans like Rep. Lawrence McClure, Chris Sprowls, Victor Crist, and Jackie Toledo, among others.
