Representative Nancy Pelosi is one of the many House Democrats who were unhappy about Trump's return to the Hill last week, saying that the former President "didn't have the courage" to return to the actual Capitol since leaving office.

"He didn't come to the Capitol. He doesn't have the courage to set foot at the scene of his crime," said Rep. Pelosi, who once blocked the names of the 13 service members killed during the Afghanistan military withdrawal from being read on the House floor.

During a recently released video of the attack on January 6, 2021, Rep. Pelosi is seen saying that she bears responsibility of what happened that day.

"We have responsibility. We did not have any accountability for what was going on there, and we should have. This is ridiculous. Why wasn't the National Guard there to begin with? I take responsibility for not having them prepare for more," said Pelosi, who for years did not accept accountability for the incident while blaming President Trump.

Pelosi made the remarks in an interview with The Floridian.

Other progressive lawmakers in the House of Representatives, namely Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Maxwell Frost, all spoke to The Floridian and offered their opinions on Trump's return to Capitol Hill.

Trump is trying to shake down Republicans so that he can get legislation and other kinds of movements to exempt himself from accountability for the 34 guilty convictions," said Rep. Ocasio-Cortez.

“If they want to cozy up with a felon, they’re entitled to it," added Rep. Omar.

Rep. Frost went as far as to call all of the rioters and protestors  who partook in the events of Jan. 6 as "treasonous people."

“It’s the first time on the hill since the almost insurrection full of treasonous people that he incited, so I am not too jazzed about that. He’s up here to gather support for the election," said Rep. Frost.

During his 1-Day trip to Washington, Trump met Republican lawmakers from both the Senate and House of Representatives to discuss his plans to retake the White House and discussed his usual campaign topics.

Rep. Chip Roy said, “Trump hasn’t said anything he hasn’t already said. Wanting to prioritize building the border, dealing with inflation, and terrorism.”

Despite facing criminal state and federal charges, Trump remains resilient and appears to continue to gather support from the American people.

For example, within 24 hours of being convicted of 34 felonies, he raised $52 million for his reelection campaign.
