Haridopolos Receives Major Endorsements From Speaker Mike Johnson, Others

Former Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos (R) has received a flurry of endorsements from prominent Republicans nationwide with a concentration of support from his home state of Florida.

Haridopolos is running for Congressional District 8, currently held by Representative Bill Posey (R-FL). Rep. Posey announced in April that he would not seek another term and subsequently endorsed Haridopolos for his seat.

Other endorsements include Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA), Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), former Arkansas Governor and Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee (R), Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH), Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody (R-FL), State Representative Randy Fine (R-FL), and Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis (R-FL).

Sen. Scott said this of Haridopolos, applauding his record in the state legislature:

“I enthusiastically endorse Mike Haridopolos for United States Congress. We made a great team together in Tallahassee and I look forward to working with him in Washington, DC. He is a proven, tested conservative, who will hit the ground running,” said Sen. Scott.

Rep. Luna gave a thoughtful endorsement to the District 8 hopeful by saying that his priorities are in the right place.

“It is with great honor that I am endorsing Mike Haridopolos for Congress in FL-8,” said the Florida congresswoman. “Mike has not only been a sound advisor to me as an elected official but is the calming and calculated leadership that we need right now. His heart is in this for the right reasons and I am positive he will fight for the constitution and wonderful people of FL-8. He will be an incredible addition to the 119th Congress. He has my complete and total endorsement!”

Finally, State Rep. Randy Fine said “No one could serve our community better,” referring to Haridopolos.

“Mike Haridopolos is an extraordinary leader with an incredible legislative mind. I am so excited to be first to endorse a fellow conservative to be my Congressman. No one could serve our community better,” said State Rep. Fine.

District 8 – which includes part of Florida’s east coast, spanning just south of Vero Beach and just north of Titusville – has voted (at least) 60% Republican in the last three general elections (2018, 2020, 2022), and in the latter election was nearly 2:1 in favor of Posey.

Should the trends of District 8 continue and Haridopolos maintain the support that Rep. Posey has received throughout his time in Congress, he will have the fast track to becoming a United States congressman.
