Gimenez Says Support for Trump Growing Because Americans are 'Waking Up' to Biden's Policies

Recent polls show former President Donald Trump leading or tying with President Joe Biden as the 2024 Election in November grows closer, even among reliably Democratic voting blocs. Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) discussed the findings in a recent appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria, saying more and more Americans are "finally waking up and saying no, we are not better off [under Biden]."

Host Maria Bartiromo opened the discussion by referencing a recent poll conducted by Siena College, the New York Times, and the Philadelphia Inquirer. This poll revealed that Trump is not only leading Biden in five battleground states (Pennsylvania, Nevada, Michigan, Georgia, and Arizona) but also making significant strides among young (18- to 29-year-old) and non-white voters. This broadening of his support base is a development worth noting.

Bartiromo asked Rep. Gimenez why he believed Trump was gaining support in these areas and among these demographics, to which he replied, "Number one: More and more Americans are paying attention to the fact that we are going to have a Presidential election, and they are answering the question, 'are you better off today than you were four years ago?' And they are answering; not only are they answering 'no,' they are answering, 'hell no, we are not better off today than we were four years ago."

Rep. Gimenez gave various reasons why, including the border crisis, the lawfare surrounding Trump, and the Biden Administration's decision to withhold weapons for Israel.

"There is a number of things that Americans are finally waking up to and saying, 'no, we are not better off, and no, we do not want to take any more of this.' That is why you are seeing more and more support for President Trump," Gimenez continued.

Notably, the former President held a rally in Wildwood, New Jersey, on Saturday, where some estimates suggest he attracted 80,000 to 100,000 supporters to watch him speak.

Trump delivered an extremely nasty remark against Biden, where he said, "You could take the ten worst presidents in the history of our country, and add them up .. and they haven't done the damage to our country that this total moron has done."
