Waltz Describes Expectations for Helping Israel after Iran Strike, 'All of the Above'

With Israel now facing a potential two-front war in the Middle East after Iran launched hundreds of drones and missiles, the Biden Administration announced they would not aid in helping the Jewish State retaliate. Representative Mike Waltz (R-FL) appeared on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria to blast President Biden's decision and describe how Congress can help Israel in its time of need while also supporting Ukraine, expressing approval for several strategies, including restructuring Ukraine aid as loans, seizing Russian assets, and unleashing American oil and gas all at once, saying, "D. All of the above."

Regarding the Biden Administration's decision not to help Israel in a retaliatory strike on Iran, Rep. Waltz said there was "no surprise that Biden is doing more to constrain Israel than he is to constrain Iran at this point. The biggest way that we could help Israel, help our ally, and actually live up to the rhetoric is [to] cut off Iran's cash," a statement he has made multiple times before.

After all, Rep. Waltz noted two aid packages to Israel have been "sitting on [Senator] Chuck Schumer's (D-NY) desk for months. We have also passed the SHIP Act out of the House that would put secondary sanctions on Chinese buyers of Iranian oil, the shipping companies, the insurance companies, [and] the refineries. If we were serious about helping Israel and we want to get to the long-term problem, you have to cut off the cash in Tehran that they are using to fund all of this."

Host Maria Bartiromo mentioned her previous discussion with Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), outlining how the House intended to "try again this week" to convince Sen. Schumer to get the two Israel packages on the Senate floor and restructure Ukraine aid as loans rather than "blank checks." Bartiromo also pointed out ideas to seize sovereign Russian assets and lift the moratorium on liquid natural gas (LNG) exports.

Waltz agreed with all of them, saying, "D. All of the above," and suggested Sen. Schumer has not passed the House's two aid packages because he "is afraid of his left. He is afraid of the pro-Hamas, [the] pro-Palestinian progressive left, so it is easy for him to just point back at the House. We cannot play that game."

Moreover, lifting the LNG freeze and allowing the United States to "flood the world with cheap, clean, American oil and gas" would kill two birds with one stone, "drying up Iran's war machine and Russia's war machine" at once.
