Donalds Accuses DOJ of 'Stonewalling' to Protect Joe, Hunter Biden

Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) appeared on NewsMax to discuss the audio recording of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s conversation with President Joe Biden (D) regarding the classified documents that were found in various places while Biden was Vice President.

In Special Counsel Hur’s report, he found President Biden was unfit to stand trial as he is an “elderly man with poor memory.”

Rep. Donalds believes the Department of Justice is shielding the President from bad press or legal action.

“Well, let’s be clear about one thing, Merrick Garland and the entire Department of Justice has been stonewalling and protecting Joe Biden. They’ve been protecting Hunter Biden. They’ve been protecting the Biden family. We’re going to do everything we can to get our hands on those audio recordings,” said Rep. Donalds.

He continued, “And it’s important for Oversight to have this information because we are responsible for looking at everything that happens throughout the federal government, same as the Judiciary Committee. For Robert Hur and frankly, for Merrick Garland to hold this information from Congress is ridiculous.”

Furthermore, the Florida congressman believes that special privilege does not apply in this instance.

“There is no special privilege to that information, to an audio recording, especially considering the fact that Robert Hur in his own report said that he wasn’t filing charges. So, that information should be readily available to the Oversight Committee and to the Judiciary Committee. But once again, Merrick Garland is carrying the water for Joe Biden to protect Joe Biden,” concluded Donalds.

Representative Laurel Lee (R-FL) recently held similar views to Special Counsel Hur’s report.

“And the reason that’s so important is it goes beyond this report itself. It really rests on the fact that this is our Commander-in-Chief. So, if we think that he comes across – that he has memory issues, that his mental acuity is in a place today that he is confused about information of national security importance, then we really have to ask ourselves, is it safe to have this person in the White House?” said Rep. Lee.

She continued, “And that was really the focus of the hearing yesterday, not just did a crime occur here, but what does it mean for us as Americans as we go to the polls in November.”

Both President Biden and former President Donald Trump (R) are expected to face off in November after officially securing their party’s nominations.
