Representative Laurel Lee (R-FL) appeared on NewsNation to discuss the mental acuity of President Joe Biden (D) after Special Counsel Robert Hur deemed him unfit to stand trial as he is an “elderly man with poor memory.”
During Special Counsel Hur’s interview with President Biden, the Commander-In-Chief had a hard time remembering the year in which his son, Beau, died of brain cancer.
Rep. Lee commented on Hur’s report.
The decision to not prosecute President Biden because he is an “elderly man with a poor memory” should alarm the American people.
We must ask, is it safe to have someone like this in the White House if this is Special Counsel Hur’s assessment? pic.twitter.com/8fpuHCVi9S

“And the reason that’s so important is it goes beyond this report itself. It really rests on the fact that this is our Commander-in-Chief. So, if we think that he comes across – that he has memory issues, that his mental acuity is in a place today that he is confused about information of national security importance, then we really have to ask ourselves, is it safe to have this person in the White House?” said Rep. Lee.
She continued, “And that was really the focus of the hearing yesterday, not just did a crime occur here, but what does it mean for us as Americans as we go to the polls in November.”
Regarding Special Counsel Hur’s findings, Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) said that the left side of the aisle needs to “find somebody better” for the 2024 Presidential election.
"The Democrats, what they ought to do is go through a real primary process and find somebody better because Joe cannot do the job, and by the way, his policies are horrible," Sen. Scott added, citing polls in which 75% of voters have said they felt the country was heading in the wrong direction.
He also called the Biden-Harris ticket the “bad one-two punch.”
Furthermore, Rep. Lee recently spoke on the Biden administration’s immigration policy and the millions of migrants who have crossed the southern border since he took office in January of 2021.
As the number of illegal immigrants flowing into the U.S. continues to grow, so do the consequences.

“We cannot afford for more lives to be lost due to this administration’s failed policies – securing our border is crucial to our national security and putting an end to this crisis that has affected so many people,” said Rep. Lee.
Both former President Donald Trump (R) and Joe Biden have officially secured their respective party’s nominations for the Oval Office this election cycle.
