DeSantis Wishes Everyone a Merry Christmas, His Campaign Say 'Bah Humbug' to Sununu

As Christmas is now in everyone’s rearview mirror, the 2024 Republican presidential candidates are still on break and gearing up for one last push in Iowa and New Hampshire, as those states will vote on who they feel should be the GOP presidential nominee in the coming weeks. While Gov. Ron DeSantis is tripping over his kid's toys (I can relate), and ambassador Nikki Haley is celebrating her daughter's wedding, former President Donald Trump is relaxing at Mar-a-Lago and relishing in his “yuge” lead in all the public opinion polls.

Haley and DeSantis are in a fight for second place.

Team DeSantis and its surrogates have turned on NH Gov. Chris Sununu after he abruptly pivoted and endorsed Haley over DeSantis.

It was assumed by many that Gov. Sununu would have endorsed DeSantis considering how often the two men appeared together on the campaign trail, and how glowingly Sununu spoke of DeSantis.

But the moment Sununu backed Haley, the political knives came out over at the DeSantis campaign.

At every turn, Team DeSantis has pushed back against Sununu’s praise for Haley.

Whether it's praising her over “crisis management” or ”fiscal Responsibility,” or “school choice,” DeSantis surrogates and so-called “influencers” have been trying to knock down Sununu’s words by contrasting them to DeSantis’s record.

Yeah, we all get it. It’s politics, but know that if Sununu had backed DeSantis over Haley, Sununu would be revered as the second coming of Jesus Christ.

But that is not the case, and DeSantis Nation appears to just be saying, “Jesus, it's Crist,” not Christ.

Get it.

Meanwhile, Haley is surging as is Trump. DeSantis needs to hope the heavy lift he has done on the ground in Iowa pays off and helps him come in a respectable second place in Iowa, which would help him a week later in the New Hampshire primary election.

If not, DeSantis could be served a batch of maple syrup-covered flap jacks to go along with this cooked goose.

Iowa’s caucus is January 15th and New Hampshire’s primary election is January 23.
