House Republicans' impeachment inquiry into President Biden will hold another hearing with brother Jim and son Hunter, days after it was found the latter sent direct payments to Joe through his Owasco PC firm in 2018. Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) spoke his piece during a recent appearance on Fox Business's Mornings with Maria, blasting the attempts at deflection by the Biden family and the Democratic Party.
Host Maria Bartiromo began by playing a clip from a recent White House press conference wherein Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre abruptly ended the conference when RealClearPolitics' Phil Wegmann inquired about Hunter's Owasco payments.
Rep. Donalds said this only cemented how "Joe Biden lied to the American people when he said he had no idea what his son was doing" and "lied when he said that he and his family never took money from foreign sources."
Bartiromo further pointed out that bank records found by House Republicans and analyzed by experts suggest evidence of money laundering. Rep. Donalds, having worked in finance before being elected to office, agreed these various money transfers were hiding something unethical.
"I used to work in banking. When you see a large transfer like that come in with no real reason into that entity, everybody in the bank has questions. They were asking these questions internally. I believe that their conjecture is absolutely what was going on with the Biden family, and so when Hunter Biden comes in for his deposition and his testimony, we will get to the bottom of it," Donalds pledged.
Biden and his defense team have sought to make Hunter's hearing open to the public, as opposed to the initial closed-door testimony typically given before the open hearing. Donalds said this is to allow House Democrats to "give him cover talking about how much he loves his dad and there is nothing to see here."
Moreover, the point of having a closed-door hearing ahead of the open one is to have "a record of what the person has said under oath before members of Congress and ask their questions. That is typical here on Capitol Hill and happens all the time. But once again, Hunter Biden thinks he is different because his daddy is President of the United States. It just does not work that way."
