Are House Republicans ready to finally proceed with impeachment proceedings for President Biden? Representative Greg Steube (R-FL) certainly is, announcing on Newsmax's Rob Schmitt Tonight that he is filing articles of impeachment against Biden for bribery and other crimes.
"Joe Biden has undermined the integrity of the Presidency. I joined @newsmax to announce my articles of impeachment against Joe Biden for bribery, extortion, fraud, and more," tweeted Rep. Steube.
Rep. Steube reiterated that House Republicans sought to build a case against Biden before proceeding, similar to remarks made by Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL), who has called it "open and shut."
"At the beginning of this Congress, Republicans wanted to make sure that we did the investigations, that we got the information before the American people. You have witness testimony, you have financial records, you have the laptop, you have text messages, you have phone conversations, you have all of this evidence now to corroborate and support impeachment articles against the President, and I intend on filing those tomorrow on all of these corruption and bribery charges," said Rep. Steube.
In addition, Steube said there is a press release "with all the details" coming, saying it has "pages upon pages of all the different things that we have gathered as Republicans," such as the testimonies of IRS whistleblowers Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, Tony Bobulinski, and Devon Archer, among other forms of evidence.
"And if this was anyone else, if it was a Republican member of Congress, we would have been prosecuted a long time ago for these crimes," Steube continued, echoing what other Florida Republicans such as Representative Anna Paulina Luna and Senator Marco Rubio have said.
Host David Harris Jr. concluded by asking what Steube had to say to those who continue to insist there is no evidence against Biden. Steube pointed at the testimony of Shapley and Ziegler, who were stonewalled in their investigation into the Biden family's finances. "There is a litany of evidence here that there have been crimes that have been committed," he said, "and even if it was just the family members and not Joe, that is still a crime."
"There is so much factual predicate for these articles of impeachment and I am hoping that [Speaker] Kevin McCarthy in the House will start the impeachment process when we get back after recess," Steube concluded.
