With Major league Soccer scoring a huge boost after the Inter Miami signing of World Cup Champion Lionel Messi, and with U.S. Men's Soccer experiencing tremendous popularity due to the increased level of play overseas, it's hard to believe that U.S. companies, like Wells Fargo,  would support the Mexican national soccer team over the U.S. Soccer.

Enter Wells Fargo Bank.

For months now, every time customers would visit one of the bank's ATM machines, the image on display is the bank advertising its support for the Mexican national soccer team.

In addition, Wells Fargo's "love for the team" is found in full display on its corporate website.

Here is what you will find on the official Wells Fargo website.

"Let's celebrate the love for the team," reads the website as it promotes a bank-issued Visa credit card with Mexico soccer emblazoned on the front of the card.

It's not clear why Wells Fargo would be promoting Mexico Soccer over U.S. Soccer. Perhaps U.S. Soccer already has an official bank sponsor?

Or could it be that the U.S. Women's Soccer team has cast a dark and "woke" political cloud over all of U.S. Soccer?

According to the U.S. Soccer website where all of its sponsors are listed, there isn't a banking sponsor.

However, VISA is listed as an official sponsor.
