President Donald Trump (R) made a claim regarding the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Trump has argued that, if he were elected President in the upcoming election, he would end the war in 24 hours. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is refuting that claim. In response, Vice President Mike Pence (R) is now defending the Trump administration’s “strong” approach to Russia.

During his interview with Martha Raddatz on ABC’s “This Week,” Ukrainian President Zelensky pulled no punches in pushing back against President Trump’s remarks about the ongoing war.

“It seems to me that the sole desire to bring the war to an end is beautiful,” Zelensky said, adding that the “desire should be based on some real-life experience.”

“It looks as if Donald Trump had already these 24 hours once in his time,” Zelensky said, adding that “we were at war, not a full-scale war, but we were at war, and as I assume, he had that time at his disposal, but he must have had some other priorities.”

“The reason why Russia did not even attempt to redraw international lines by force during our administration is cause we were strong,” Pence said in response to President Zelensky’s comments.

“I understand President Zelensky’s frustration,” Pence added before suggesting that the “pathway towards success” is to “give the Ukrainian military… what they need,” which he feels that President Joe Biden (D) has not effectively done.

In Zelensky’s interview with ABC, the Ukrainian president shared that “if we are talking about ending the war at the cost of Ukraine, in other words to make us give up our territories, well, I think, in this way, Biden could have brought it to an end even in five minutes, but we would not agree.”
