Governor DeSantis (R-FL) became a serious contender for the presidency after his reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Over the past three years, his administration has been defined by Gov. DeSantis's combatting of what conservatives call "woke ideology. Now, DeSantis intends to rip the woke out of the military if elected president.

The United States military under the Biden Administration, has been subjected to a radical paradigm shift.  Conservative lawmakers and voters started to notice this when military commercials were seemingly going out of their way to feature gay weddings.

While there have been multiple cases of these ads being posted over the past few years, proponents argue that it is to make the military a more inclusive place.

Currently, the US military is experiencing a difficult time recruiting young men and women to join the service.  In spite of this, the US Navy doubled down on promoting inclusivity and even brought in drag queen performance to assist in recruiting.

The "woke problem" for the military is not, however, limited to LGBTQ representation.

Like many monuments in 2020 after the Summer of Black Lives Matter protests, US military bases have been renamed in order to distance themselves from figures of antiquity.

The legendary Fort Bragg U.S. Army Base was instituted in the Fall of 1918 as Camp Bragg, and named after North Carolina General Braxton Bragg.  General Bragg served in the Mexican-American War in 1847.  The name was seen as fitting for over a century as Bragg was known for his artillery actions during his service and the base was initially an artillery training center.  The name will be removed for Bragg's affiliation to the Confederacy in the American Civil War.

Now, the most anti-woke governor in the country and presidential hopeful is fighting back, claiming, "it is time to rip the woke out of the military and return it to its core mission," as a part of his newest campaign proposal called, "Mission First."

As a Navy veteran himself, DeSantis' plan would incorporate four pillars, Ripping political agendas out of our military, restoring military standards, breaking the swamp & promoting accountability, and turning the tide against Biden’s military recruitment crisis.

"There was no greater honor than knowing I was wearing the cloth of my country when I served in the military, but our nation’s once-proud fighting force has been infected and paralyzed by a political agenda.” Governor Ron DeSantis said. “It is time to rip the woke out of the military and return it to its core mission. We must restore a sense of confidence, conviction, and patriotic duty to our  institutions — and that begins with our military."
