Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was involved in a multi-car collision while on the campaign trail.

Governor DeSantis and his team suffered no injuries in the fender bender that occurred on the way to a fundraising event.

“(DeSantis) and his team are uninjured. We appreciate the prayers and well wishes of the nation for his continued protection while on the campaign trail,” spokesperson Bryan Griffin said in a statement.

DeSantis is incessantly campaigning as he attempts to overtake former President Donald Trump as the frontrunner in the 2024 Republican presidential primary sweepstakes. The Florida Governor is the candidate who’s secured the most donations from April 1st until now.

In the latest DeSantis v Trump clash, the latter criticized Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds for her neutrality towards all candidates and her consequent failure to endorse him.  Governor Reynolds defended her stance as “following a long-standing tradition that she takes very seriously” and that she advised Trump of “early on”.

As a result, Trump will not partake in interviews Reynolds will be hosting with all main Republican presidential contenders during the Iowa State Fair.

DeSantis’ campaign taunted Trump’s team for their leader’s absence via Twitter.

“Seems like someone will be missing from this event…” stated an official campaign account.

DeSantis’ campaign has frequented Iowa as they seek to accumulate support in the keystone state. Earlier this month, Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis launched “Mamas for DeSantis” campaign coalition alongside Reynolds.

Visits from DeSantis are expected to continue as he strives to overcome a double-digits poll deficit to Iowa Republicans’ favorite: Trump.

Iowa’s 2024 presidential caucuses will be held on Jan. 15. Ubiquitously present in the minds of candidates and campaign directors will be the fact that every president elected since 1972 has finished in the top three of the Iowa caucuses.
