Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) recently announced that President Joe Biden (D) is “failing the American people” when it comes to tackling the debt ceiling issue.
As Republicans were the only party to formally introduce their plan to address the looming problem – the Limit, Save, Grow Act – Rep. Gimenez is bringing up the fact that President Biden is declining any invitation to sit down with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to negotiate.
“Our President is failing the American people. The truth is that President Biden needs to come to the negotiating table to avoid a catastrophic budget default. President Biden refused to meet with Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy for almost one hundred days,” stated Rep. Gimenez.
“Instead of working with Republicans to find common sense solutions to out-of-control spending, President Biden ignored the impending debt ceiling until the last minute and now misleads the American people about the Republicans plan.”
Moreover, Gimenez reinforces the notion that the GOP was the only party to provide a debt crisis solution, stating, “House Republicans are the only ones in Washington that delivered a plan to tackle the nation’s debt crisis, stop excessive federal spending, tackle inflation, and put America back on track for sustained economic growth. The Limit, Save, Grow Act is a commonsense approach that puts an end to the Democrat’s irresponsible spending spree while ensuring Veterans, Medicare, and Social Security programs are strengthened and preserved. This act claws back over $30 billion in unspent COVID, caps future increases in spending at 1% per year and returns the budget to the same level the federal government was operating under in December 2022.”
One of the concluding sentences of the newsletter calls out the president for “political attacks” rather than solving the problem.
“President Biden and extreme Democrats appear more interested in crafting lazy, untrue political attacks than they are in solving the nation’s debt crisis,” said Gimenez.
Gimenez is not the only Florida Congressman to call out the Democratic Party for their lack of planning. Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) gave his thoughts as well.

According to USA Today, June 1st could be the last day the U.S. can pay its bills.
