Representative Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) went on Fox Business and Fox News to discuss the end of Title 42 and the Republican approach to massive migration caravans.

His main argument is that he is not opposed to immigration entirely, but illegal immigration.

“In Florida we accept migrants and have a look at my own county, 70% of the people who live there weren’t born in the United States and so it’s not that we’re anti-immigrant, we’re anti-illegal immigration, and we’re anti what’s happening now at the border with the Biden administration and his complete lack of control. And actually, what’s happening at the border is what he wants, which is chaos and millions and millions of migrants coming into the United States,” stated Rep. Gimenez.

Moreover, Rep. Gimenez added while appearing on the main Fox News Channel that disarray that has unfolded at the southern border has been building since President Joe Biden’s (D) first day in office.

“This is all a product of the Biden administration’s – really, war on the orderly immigration process. And that started his very first in office by overturning all the policies that were working. And so, it’s no surprise that now we have this crisis. Well, we’ve been having this crisis since its first day, and now it’s really going to come a nightmare as more and more migrants flood into the United States,” said Gimenez.

Rep. Gimenez is not the only elected official in the state of Florida to comment on the ending of Title 42.

Recently, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) called the scenario “cataclysmic.”

“This has the potential to be a cataclysm. Like I said, we've never seen images like this before. What we're about to see over the next few days, I think it's going to lead to all sorts of things that are unanticipated. Migrant centers, uprisings, and riots. Mass migration events are never good,” Sen. Rubio concluded.

Sen. Rubio stated that once Title 42 officially ends, there will not be this one-time massive influx in migration, but rather just one of many waves of people looking to make their way in through the southern border.

“There's 100,000 people near the border ready to pounce. But I want you to know that there are at least another 500,000 people en route."

Title 42 expires on May 11th at 11:59 p.m. EST.
