Representative Byron Donalds (R-FL) went on Bloomberg to discuss Republican efforts to address the budget while simultaneously calling out the Democrats for their lack of planning.

House Republicans recently passed the Limit, Save, Grow Act which looks to tackle “chronic labor shortage hurting small businesses while reining in President Biden’s wasteful spending,” according to a House GOP press release.

Rep. Donalds mentioned that the White House and Senate Democrats do not have a plan going forward as of now.

“First of all, Senate Democrats haven’t passed a bill at all. And the White house doesn’t have a plan at all. So, right now where we are is they need to come up with a strategy for what they think is going to be palatable in order to raise the debt ceiling…They need to come up with a plan,” stated Rep. Donalds.

The Florida Congressman would also state that House Republicans have been “very clear” on their strategy in order to keep the machine oiled.

“House Republicans are very clear. We have a strategy to raise the debt ceiling and we have a strategy in order to find a way to continue to pay the nation’s bills, some of which I don’t agree with, previous Congresses have encumbered us in ways that we need to reflect and change but then we go forward.”

Moreover, Donalds assured viewers that he was not going to negotiate his economic philosophies away.

“But to then say what I’m willing to give away, that’s not appropriate. I’ve never cut any deal like that in my private life. I’m not going to start that now.”

The Limit, Save, Grow Act looks to protect taxpayers by “cutting of hundreds of billions of dollars in special interest green energy handouts that are flowing into the pockets of the wealthy, the Chinese Communist Party, and billion-dollar corporations.”

While on the House Floor, Representative Jason Smith (R-MO) stated, “Unlike the Inflation Reduction Act, the Limit, Save, Grow Act…actually does what it says it does. It puts real limits on future spending so that we begin to turn the ship back in a more fiscally sound direction. It saves taxpayer dollars by clawing back unobligated pandemic spending…by ending welfare for the wealthy and loopholes for big corporations in the Inflation Reduction Act.”

The Limit, Save, Grow Act was originally introduced by Representative Jodey Arrington (R-TX).
