Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is taking considerable heat over his position to stay out of the expected indictment and arrest of former President Donald Trump by an overzealous and "Soros-funded" district attorney in Manhattan, Alvin Briggs. Now one of his past supporters and confidants, Rep. Matt Gaetz, is calling out Gov. DeSantis for not supporting President Trump.

Rep. Gaetz states that "Ron DeSantis should be standing in the breach to stop any sort of extradition of President Trump from the state of Florida."

Gaetz also warned that DeSantis's position to stay clear of the persecution of President Trump could put everyday Floridians at risk of the same form of targeting.

"If I were Governor of Florida, I would not allow any Floridian to be hauled before a Soros-backed prosecutor in a blue city over politics. I wouldn’t make an exception to not protect the President of the United States. Ron DeSantis should be standing in the breach to stop any sort of extradition of President Trump from the state of Florida. The fact that he’s not doing so puts every Floridian at risk who could be the subject of a false allegation," said Rep. Gaetz.

Gaetz's sentiments were echoed yesterday by The Floridian Publisher Javier Manjarres who says that DeSantis could have taken the higher road and said that he would defend all Americans from this sort of persecution.
"If I was Ron, I would have stated, ' I will do whatever I can to protect every single American against malicious and political persecution regardless of race, creed, or political affiliation. These 'Soros-funded' prosecutors are a threat to our freedoms," stated Manjarres.
