DOWN GOES MANNY! DOWN GOES MANNY

It was expected, and couldn’t come fast enough for many Florida Democrats.

Florida Democratic Party Chairman Manny Diaz has said “A Dios” to his fellow Democrats, quitting his post.

Who is going to fill the void over at Democratic headquarters?

Former AG Commissioner Nikki Fried has told The Floridan that she considered the post for about a second but realized that she didn’t want to go down with a ship that was already taking in water.

No one has stepped up to fill the void, but could the unemployed former Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith consider taking the job?

Why not? It’s not like he is doing much besides trolling Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida Republicans on Twitter.

Smith is more than capable of doing it, but then Democrats would be saddled with having a Progressive at the helm of their sunken ship.

The Progressive ideology Democrats embraced over the past two election cycles helped Gov. DeSantis, President Donald Trump, and statewide Republicans win, or as Rep. Jared Moskowitz put it, Democrats got “crushed.”

It goes without saying that Florida Democrats have hit rock bottom with no hope in sight, so whoever takes over for Diaz will have a very heavy lift on his or her hands.;

Maybe Rep. Allison Tant can be persuaded into taking back her old job?

Why not?

Republicans Sens. Joe Gruters and Blaise Ingoglia have led Republicans and held elected office.

And then there is Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who is arguably the most qualified to lead her state party.

Oh, let’s not forget about former Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell.

Mucarsel-Powell would be a great leader, but does she want it?

Born Alive

House Republicans will be forcing their Democratic colleagues to vote on legislation that could put their minority in the lower chamber in a very uncomfortable position.

All House Democrats, except for Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, recently voted against defunding 87,000 new IRS employees, and now it appears as if they will have to vote on the controversial abortion bill that makes everyone's skin crawl

Rep. Anna V. Eskamani-January 22nd was the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. This year, it'll be a day for national protests and marches to protect abortion access.

Mario Diaz-Balart-Tonight, I voted to rescind funding to hire 87,000 new IRS agents to monitor middle-class families & small businesses. As the American people continue to suffer from the Biden Admin’s inflationary policies, the last thing they need is their government working against them.

Dr. Neal Dunn-Right-to-Repair will save Americans money, increase consumer choice, and help our economy get back on track. It will work for the farming industry and the auto industry!

Rep. Matt Gaetz-As I said in September, America has bigger problems than library disputes.

The only reason criminality appends to paperwork kerfuffles is because they thought they could get Trump.

Laurel Lee-I am grateful every day for our law enforcement and the sacrifices they make to keep our communities safe, but I am especially grateful today, as we take a moment for our brave men & women in blue on National #LawEnforcement Appreciation Day.

Rep. Cammack-House Republicans have worked to shed light on House Democrats' disastrous policies, including one of the most egregious. Tonight, we fired 87,000 IRS agents.

We're working to deliver and we're just getting started

Debbie Wasserman Schultz-Out of the gate, House Republicans want to provide relief for wealthy tax cheats and add to the deficit.
