Georgia is the talk of the town in the political world, and now it’s causing even more of a stir. In just 5 days, Georgians will once again take to the polls to elect either Senator Raphael Warnock (D) or Herschel Walker (R).

Both Warnock and Walker have canvassers rallying support, and though the race is too close to predict, another poll shows the likelihood of who Georgians would vote for in 2024. A new Emerson College poll indicates that Georgian voters would support Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) over President Joe Biden (D) in a hypothetical presidential race.

Gov. DeSantis has not confirmed if he'll be making a run for the White House in 2024, but he's already created buzz over his hypothetical candidacy while also generating a rivalry with President Donald Trump (R), who has announced that he'll be running.

In the poll, Governor DeSantis maintained a 4-point advantage over President Biden with a score of 47% to 43%. Moreover, 6% of those polled said they wanted another candidate, and 4% said they were undecided.

In contrast, the same poll suggests that President Biden has a 1-point advantage over President Trump with a score of 43% to 42% with 11% saying they want another candidate and 2% remaining undecided.

Among Independent voters, President Biden has a 6-point lead over President Trump, and 20% of Independents argue that they would prefer another candidate. However, Governor DeSantis has a 3-point lead over President Biden among Independent voters with 8% saying they'd prefer another candidate.

Ahead of the November election, President Trump directed comments at DeSantis, calling him "Ron DeSanctimonious." Since then, Trump has further criticized DeSantis, calling his disloyal. In turn, DeSantis has been asked to share his thoughts on Trump's comments, and without naming Trump by name, during a press conference, DeSantis simply directed people to look at the "scoreboard" while reaffirming that his focus is on Florida.
