Rep. Darren Soto-Discussed TPS, new visas & peace talks at Casa De Venezuela. Thanks @POTUS for working towards a potential $3B for humanitarian aid, energy deal, & free & fair elections. While I remain skeptical of Maduro, the opposition’s support of this framework merits further efforts.

Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez-The reports on the #TwitterFiles are both shocking & disturbing. The of lack of accountability is absolutely unacceptable.

Rep. Anna V. Eskamani -The Unite FL Recovery Portal is designed to connect Floridians impacted by Hurricane Ian to important recovery resources, including housing support. Additional nonprofits will also be supporting unmet needs of Floridians; more details below.

Florida Housing Coalition Names Ashon Nesbitt CEO

As of January 1, 2023, the state’s top house nonprofit will be headed up by Ashon Nesbitt.

“Speaking on behalf of our entire board, I could not be more pleased that Ashon will be the new head of the Coalition,” said Suzanne Cabrera, Chair of the Coalition Board.

“His extensive experience in housing financing and development, his vision and professionalism and his championship of all our major initiatives make him the best choice. Ashon is known for building partnerships across public and private, for-profit and nonprofit sectors – he has the right combination of leadership skills, policy expertise, and commitment to affordable housing to lead the Coalition.”

"Cammack Leads Bipartisan Resolution Honoring Military Women's Memorial" by The Floridian's Grayson Bakich—The contributions our nation's military women make to national defense are no less valuable than those of men. They too lose their lives in the line of duty, and it is the responsibility of Military Women's Memorial to ensure their memory survives. This past week, Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL-3) teamed up with Women's Caucus Chair Rep. Brenda Lawrence (D-MI) to introduce a resolution honoring the Memorial's 25th anniversary.

"Gaetz, DeSantis Showcase Divide Within Republican Party" by The Floridian's Jackson Bakich—There is no question that former President Donald Trump's presidency and the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement turned the political world on its head. Hillary Clinton’s loss to the former The Apprentice host will probably go down as the greatest upset in political history. However, the ripple effects – from what seemed the most improbable moment – are still being felt today within the Republican Party, and not necessarily in a good way.

"Cherfilus-McCormick Questions Mass Haiti Deportations" by The Floridian's Grayson Jackson—Florida Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D) has joined numerous House members in an effort to tackle pressing immigration concerns regarding Haiti. 13 House Democrats have collaborated in penning a letter and directing it to the U.S. Department of State and the international community. The lawmakers called for an investigation into the mass deportations of Haitian migrants.
