Although the Supreme Court rules Title 42 remain in place, there is still a surge of migrants at our southern border. Congressman-elect Cory Mills (R-FL-7) appears on Fox & Friends First, where he says the border crisis "is not a Democrat or Republican issue. This is an American issue."

The initial question Fox poses to Mills is what sort of message the fact that President Biden is currently vacationing in St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, sends to the American people regarding the issue. Mills says this "almost appears to be the status quo, regarding the Biden administration." He adds that the administration "doesn't want to address the issue."

Notably, Mills refers to migrants as "insurgents," likely referring to the large amounts of identified terrorists and criminals found to have crossed the border.

Further, he says this constitutes far more than "a health crisis." Mills says it is "a humanitarian crisis, this is a child sex trafficking crisis, this is a fentanyl and American overdose and poisoning crisis. This is something we must address. We must secure our borders, we must maintain Title 42, we must defund sanctuary cities, and we must do what's needed for immigration reform to make sure that we keep America's sovereignty and put the American people's lives first."

When asked if Title 42's remaining will prompt the White House to use this time come up with a plan to address the crisis, Mills is doubtful. "They're not going to do anything with it. They'll go ahead and continue to try to say that our borders are secure like Secretary Mayorkas said... They're playing political football to kick it further down the line." He further adds that every state is becoming a border state due to the shipping of migrants around the country.

Another question is whether Title 42's remaining will truly have an effect for Customs and Border Patrol. Mills answers "that's why what we need to do on day one of 118th Congress is defund the 87,000 IRS agents that the Biden administration tried to push for, reallocate that money to help get the necessary man force that we need on the border."

Furthermore, Mills calls the Biden administration's handling of the border an "America Last agenda" that prioritizes these illegal migrants as opposed to homeless veterans. The reasoning for this, he says, is to "pass some radicalized federal HR-1 type bill that enables these people to vote in our elections and silence the American voice."

"Without borders, you do not have a nation," he continues. "We must protect our sovereignty and we must protect the American people."
