Salazar Calls Biden Hypocrite on Immigration

Share

Florida Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R) has issued a letter to President Joe Biden (D), calling him a hypocrite on the issue of immigration. The Florida Republican alleged that the president is “pointing fingers at others on immigration,” adding that Biden has not provided any solutions.

The issue of illegal immigration has been a tense topic in the political landscape, and it has only escalated as governors like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) and Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) have relocated undocumented immigrants to other states.

Rep. Salazar, who’s been a vocal critic of the president, argued that Biden “has prioritized every issue except Immigration Reform.”

The stance that some Republican lawmakers have taken on the issue has received condemnation, so Rep. Salazar has now attempted to dispel some of the criticism that has been directed at Republicans.

In a statement, Salazar commented that “President Biden has failed to act time and again and yet wants to blame republicans instead of talking about solutions.”

“We need to fix this problem now and I am the only Member of Congress with an Immigration Reform proposal to actually solve this crisis.”

Salazar has been endorsed by Governor DeSantis, who’s also maintained a rivalry with President Biden, and she has championed her Dignity Act, “which ends illegal immigration once and for all, fully secures the border, and fixes our broken asylum system” according to a press release from her office. Moreover, “the Dignity Act offers a practical and compassionate solution for the undocumented, while helping American workers and restoring the economy.”

In the letter issued to the president, Salazar affirms that the Dignity Act would directly address the issue with immigration, and she warned that the president is “putting lives at risk and the hypocrisy is on full display to the American people.”
