New DeSantis ad Tackles Illegal Immigration

Share

A new advertisement supporting the reelction effort of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has been released. The advertisement titled Protecting Florida discusses the issue of illegal immigration.

DeSantis, who’s made headlines over relocating illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard, has shown that illegal immigration will take center stage as the midterm election draws nearer.

In the advertisement, an “Angel Mom” discusses the death of her son after a drunk driver killed her son in an automotive collision. The illegal immigrant had been twice deported.

“My child was killed by someone who should not have been here,” says Kiyan, the “Angel Mom,” adding that “this is what happens when we have open borders.”

DeSantis received widespread condemnation from Democrats last week after reports circulated that he had directed two planes filled with undocumented immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard.

Accompanying the new advertisement, a message from First Lady Casey DeSantis to supporters expands on the story of Kiyan and her son Brandon.

“No one should have to go through what Kiyan and her husband went through, burying  their son when he was just 21 years old,” First Lady DeSantis said, adding that “after hearing Kiyan’s story, along with the stories of countless other innocent families who have suffered the consequences of open border policies, Ron promised to take action to better protect our state from the impacts of illegal immigration.”

First Lady DeSantis argued that Governor DeSantis is trying to combat the "Biden-Crist border crisis," adding that DeSantis has enacted several measures to make sure that the issue doesn't continue to exacerbate in the sunshine state.

"In 2021, the Governor deployed state law enforcement to help secure the southern border, becoming the first state to answer Texas and Arizona’s call for assistance," First Lady DeSantis informed, adding that the DeSantis administration has also moved to inform the public of the dangers of fentanyl.
