While many Republicans have speculated how many of President Biden's (D) voters were fake, conspiracy theorists can now celebrate a miniature victory after a recent Twitter audit has found that almost half of Biden's Twitter following are not real.

In total, Joe Biden holds a staggering 22.2 million followers on his Twitter platform, one of his most direct ways of communicating with the public. However, an audit, which was done for the social media giant by software firm SparkToro, found that 49.3% of the president’s followers are “fake followers,” according to Newsweek.

Fake accounts are defined by SparkToro as bots, inactive accounts, spam, or propaganda. This means that almost 11 million of the followers that the President claims to have on Twitter fall into one of the aforementioned classifications of "fake accounts."

The issue is now concerning many on the American Right as Elon Musk prepares to buy the social media platform for $44 Billion. However, Musk has vowed to not go through with the purchase until these fake accounts are purged from the social media platform.

Musk has long voiced that Twitter has become the "public square," and everyone should be entitled to use it.  Musk has even teased the return of former President Donald Trump (R) who has been permanently banned from the app.

Twitter has defended themselves against these accusations from Musk, Republicans, and the new social media website, Truth Social, and maintains that over 95% of their users are not fake, but are genuine users.
