The Florida Chamber of Commerce has joined a list of reputable names that have endorsed Senator Wilton Simpson (R-FL) for Agricultural Commissioner in this upcoming election cycle.

“The Florida Chamber of Commerce endorses Wilton Simpson as Florida’s next Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services. As our recent Most Valuable Legislator, Wilton Simpson has taken the lessons of being a local business owner and applied them to improving the business climate for free enterprise in Florida," said Mark Wilson, President and CEO, Florida Chamber of Commerce.

"As an egg farmer from Trilby, Wilton has fought tirelessly for the business community’s legislative priorities, including the passage of COVID-19 liability protections for Florida employers and health care providers, protecting legacy farms from frivolous litigation through The Florida Right to Farm Act, and for lower taxes for local Florida businesses and families.”-Florida Chamber of Commerce

Senator Simpson has since called the Florida Chamber, "a tremendous advocate for Florida's hardworking job creators and I am honored to have their support."  Adding, "Florida's businesses kept us going through the pandemic with ingenuity and perseverance and I am proud of the work we have done to protect their opportunity to earn an honest day's living."

The Chamber is now among a group of highly respectable endorsements, such as the Florida Farm Bureau FarmPAC, 59 Florida Sheriffs, the NRA, and even former President of the United States Donald Trump (R).

The seat is currently held by Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried (D-FL), who is pursuing the governorship against the ever-popular Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL).

While Fried may have the bragging rights of being the only statewide elected Democrat in Florida for years, Simpson's base appears staggeringly powerful against this short trend in Florida politics.
