Clowdus Backs DeSantis, Condemns False 'Don't Say Gay' Media Narrative

Conservative Republican and Florida First candidate Brian Clowdus, who is running for the Florida House of Representatives in District 6 this election cycle, has come out swinging in support of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and his  Florida First, Family First legislative agenda.

Clowdus, like most Republicans, supports Rep. Joe Harding’s “Parental Rights in Education” measure that Gov. DeSantis said he would be signing into law.

The controversial bill, which was dubbed the “Don’t Say Gay” bill by the LGBTQ community, progressive activists, legislators, and the Florida press corps, pushed back against the movement to teach or instruct elementary school children about sexuality.

Oh, and Clowdus, who is openly gay and a big fan of DeSantis’s  “Gay icon” Spokeswoman Christina Pushaw, told The Floridian that the bill was “an INCREDIBLE piece of legislation that ensures parents will be in charge of raising their children,” adding that “nowhere in the bill is the word GAY even used.”

“Nowhere does it say you can’t talk about being gay or can’t talk about having 2 moms or 2 dads. It says there cannot be classroom INSTRUCTION regarding sexual orientation and gender identity for kids k-3,” said Clowdus.

"Gov DeSantis is a national model of how Governors should operate. He continues to put Floridians First despite what our tyrannical federal government demands. There is a reason everyone and their third cousin is flocking to Florida. There is a reason I myself moved here several years ago. That reason is Governor Ron DeSantis and I would be lying if I didn’t say Christina Pushaw is the cherry on top. She & the Governor are truly a force to be reckoned with and they fight the woke bull crap daily. I truly have never been more proud to be an America First, Florida First Patriot."Brian Clowdus

Clowdus adds that individuals who have taken issue with the bill either “haven’t read the bill & follow a mass group think spoon-fed by mainstream media and celebrities, or “They are pedophiles.”

“The route of this bill is getting woke propaganda out of schools. LET KIDS BE KIDS. I cannot support this bill enough,” added Clowdus.

Clowdus added that the measure wasn’t anti-gay as Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith (D) and others have called it, rather it was “ANTI-WOKE” and was a direct jab at the “insane woke ideology being forced onto Americans, much less onto children.”

Speaking on Rep. Smith, who has defended Democratic Socialism on the floor of the Florida House and has sued DeSantis, Clowdus asserted that Rep. Smith who says he represents the gay community in Central Florida, “sure as hell doesn’t represent” him and that he walked away from the gay community.

“He sure as hell doesn’t represent me. I walked away from the LGBTQ community years ago. I don’t like to be told I have to think a certain way because of one tiny aspect of who I am,” stated Clowdus. “Believe it or not, there are folks who are tired of being roped into communities that say you must be a woke social justice warrior to be a good person.”

Clowdus wasn’t finished with Rep. Smith.

“By saying that people of color or people of different sexual orientations can’t be part of the America First Conservative movement is well, racist & homophobic,” concluded Clowdus. “ I look forward to debating Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith & truly regret I wasn’t already in Tallahassee for this past session.”

Clowdus told The Floridian that he would have taken Smith to task on the floor during the recently concluded 2022 legislative session.
