The Rubio campaign continues to pressure Florida Rep. Val Demings (D) after James Carville’s (D) comments regarding the unvaccinated. As Demings is set to attend a “virtual grassroots rally” with the political figure, the Rubio campaign is further calling for the Democratic Congresswoman to denounce Carville’s comments and distance herself from him. Instead, the Rubio campaign is accusing Demings of remaining “silent.”

The Rubio campaign, constantly highlighting the severity of the Senatorial race, is criticizing Demings for being “silent” on Carville’s comments.

As reported earlier this week, Carville, a Democratic strategist and host of the Politics War Room with Co-Host Al Hunt, discussed the unvaccinated in a recent episode.

In the episode in question, Carville expressed his frustration with people who do not get the vaccine, saying, “if you ask me what’s my first reaction to you if you’re not vaccinated, you don’t have any medical reason not to be, you’re a piece of s***, ok?”

“I just want to punch you in the god****ed face. That’s the way I look at these people,” Carville added.

The Rubio campaign immediately released a statement, denouncing the comments and questioning Demings’ involvement with Carville.

Demings did not release a statement commenting on the remarks, and the Rubio campaign is now expressing its disappointment on what they argue is silence on the matter.

“Despite sticking close to Carville, Demings’ campaign has remained silent on controversial remarks he made during a recent podcast about punching unvaccinated people in the face,” reads a statement.

Demings, a former Orlando Police Chief, has maintained that “Florida can do better than Marco Rubio,” and their Senatorial race is expected to be one of the most closely watched and most expensive races of the 2022 midterm election.

Carville has not responded to the backlash, and he has expressed his staunch support of Demings.
