Moments after the U.S. House of Representatives voted 228-206  in favor of President Joe Biden's $1.2 Trillion infrastructure bill, House Democrats, including Florida Rep. Stephanie Murphy, applauded their efforts to pass the contentious and divisive spending bill.

Rep. Murphy tweeted that she was “THRILLED the bipartisan infrastructure bill has finally passed” and even posted an image of her and another legislator celebrating on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.

“Celebrating a historic victory for the American people tonight,” stated Rep. Murphy.

But while 13 House Republicans defected and handed Democrats a victory, other Republicans like Rep. Brian Mast did not, and expressed their distaste and dissatisfaction over the hefty spending bill.

In a statement, Rep. Mast called the Democratic victory nothing less than an “attempt” to “continue down the path toward socialism.”

“Tonight’s vote was just the start of Democrats’ attempts to jam through a multitrillion dollar socialist wishlist with the largest tax increase in decades to pay for it. Their reckless spending habit has already caused massive inflation and labor shortages, and I will do everything in my power to stop them from continuing down the path toward socialism,” stated Rep. Mast.

In addition, two of Rep. Murphy’s 2022 Republican congressional challenges also reacted to the passing of the bill, with State Rep. Anthony Sabatini called for the 13 Republicans who voted alongside Democrats to be “eliminated from the party.”

Cory Mills, the combat veteran who recently rescued an American family in Afghanistan, released a video moments after the vote where he questioned Murphy’s “moderate” or “Blue Dog Democrat” bona fides.

“After weeks and weeks of bogus charades by Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy, it should come as no surprise that she is voted in favor of Biden administration's “Build Back Broke” bill," said Mills.

Mills went on to point out that Murphy voted alongside Speaker Nancy Pelosi “98% of the time” and “93% of the time”  with “self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.”

“She claims she is a Blue Dog Democrat, a Moderate, but what she is, is a fraud,” stated Mills.

Moderate Legislators have agreed to vote on the Build Back Better Act—Progressive Democratic “wishlist”—in two weeks, but only if and after the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) is able to score the measure.

The Progressive “Squad” of the Democratic House Caucus voted against the infrastructure bill because it did was not tied to the infrastructure bill.

"Passing the infrastructure bill without passing the Build Back Better Act first risks leaving behind childcare, paid leave, health care, climate action, housing, education, and a roadmap to citizenship,” stated Rep. Ilhan Omar after the vote.
