When a defiant Dallas Chief of Police Edgardo (Eddie) Garcia held a press conference to defend the actions of his officer who arrested Angela West on a DWI charge, little did he know that the allegations of wrongful arrest and corruption levied against Ofc. Lydhia Harris would turn out to be true.

According to Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot, his office would not be formally charging Mrs. West after the results of the blood test came back negative.

In a letter from Mrs. West attorney George R. Milner III, Creuzot is said to have reviewed the toxicology report and concluded that there was “NO ALCOHOL” found in the blood sample taken and that there wouldn’t be any charges filed.

While Police make mistakes, Ofc. Harris may have lied on the sworn affidavit she used to obtain the search warrant mandating that Mrs. West offer up her blood for testing.

In the affidavit, Ofc. Harris swore that she smelled alcohol coming out of the car and then  “located a McDonald’s cup that was in the center console and that was well within reach” of Mrs. West. Harris added that she “smelled the cup and smelled the scent of alcohol coming from within the cup.”

Harris's assertion that she definitely “smelled the scent of alcohol” is highly questionable considering that no alcohol was found in West’s blood.

But what of the McDonald's cup of booze?

Did Mrs. West leave P.F. Chang's, go to some random liquor store where she bought alcohol, and just so happened to have an empty McDonald's cup available for her to pour the alcohol in it, and not even take a sip of it? Did the police find anything else in the car, like a bottle of alcohol to help bolster their case for DWI?

The answer is No.

“I stand by my assertion that a full apology to my wife Angela is warranted. As well, the full unedited body cam video should be released by the @DallasPD @DPDChiefGarcia to the press and the public. My wife’s honor and reputation should have never been assailed,” stated Allen West on his Twitter account.

The Dallas Police and Chief Garcia have yet to offer a form of an apology to Mrs. West. Shameful.
