Amid Governor Andrew Cuomo's (D-NY) amazing fall from grace as the AG probe into his sexual misconduct was painfully unraveled, a bipartisan push for him to resign has only grown. Now, Florida Senate Minority Leader Lauren Book (D-32) has not only called for his resignation but also his prosecution.
Sen. Book is not only an advocate of women and sexual assault survivors, but is one herself, as she expressed in her Tweet condemning the actions of Gov. Cuomo.
"Governor Cuomo must be held accountable for his actions, resign, and face prosecution." - Lauren Book on Governor Cuomo apparent sexual misconduct.
Book also made sure to deliver praise to the upwards of several women who have apparently been victims of the New York Governor, claiming "As a survivor of SA- I am thankful for the thoroughness of this report and glad these women will have their voices heard. They are brave beyond measure." Adding the tag "#Istandwiththem":

In a follow-up tweet, Book addressed the politics of the matter, stating "this isn’t politics, you are a predator. Just to be clear" towards Cuomo.
Senator Book is only one of many national Democrats who are joining in on the criticism of Cuomo. According to a poll conducted at the beginning of the Cuomo controversy by Newsweek, 44% of national Democrats reportedly wanted the governor to resign his position.
However, it is safe to say not as many Democrats were willing to call for his prosecution, unlike Book. Senator Book has shown her ability to work with Florida Republicans, such as staunch Conservative Rep. Spencer Roach (R-79) who she has previously worked with before for victims of crimes/litigation.
Maybe some Democrats feel that calling for prosecution would cost too much politically, but Book has shown that sexual assault committed by anyone should be met with equal intensity, regardless of party.
