Nikki Fried’s Campaign Strategy is Treading Water

JUICE—Agriculture Commissioner and 2022 Democratic gubernatorial candidate Nikki Fried continues her daily barrage of barbs against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Floridians have become accustomed to Commissioner Fried’s jabs at Gov. DeSantis, but it appears that’s all she has to offer.

Fried isn’t offering solutions, isn't even offering suggestions to fix existing problems. All Fried is doing is regurgitating Progressive Democratic talking points being used against Republicans, and is using terms like “oppressive” and “Racist” to refer to the popular governor.

Oh, let’s not forget that Fried also equated DeSantis to a couple of murderous dictators.

Fried’s latest tweet at gay women’s soccer player Ashlyn Harris sums it all up

“Ron DeSantis ignores anyone who disagrees with him or threatens the system that elected Republicans have built to keep the people down. I'd love to meet with you and discuss how we can push back against this oppressive & hateful law,” tweeted Fried at Harris after the Orlando Pride player asked for someone to get her a meeting with DeSantis to discuss Transgender athletes.

Look, if Fried does not change her tone, does not change her line of attack against DeSantis, she will be destroyed by Rep. Charlie Crist (D) in the gubernatorial primary.

Rep. Crist measures his attacks against DeSantis and also uses Progressive talking points, but not to the degree that Fried does, and he actually puts substantive contrasts. Fried is over-the-top and it’s hurting her.

Fried has all the making of being a good candidate. To quote President Joe Biden, Fried is an “articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking” gal, but could be out of her depth in this race.

Nicholas X. Duran@DuranForFlorida-Some days remind you how brittle life can be. That our lives are fleeting and in the end it won’t be about how big your house is or what car you drove, but more about how much you loved and were you able to help others. Today is one of those days.

Rep. Anna V. Eskamani @AnnaForFloridas-“The UCF athletic department is introducing a new program that will assist its athletes in creating economic opportunities made available through impending name, image and likeness legislation.”
