Gov. Ron DeSantis continues to step on the proverbial neck of the controversial and racially divisive Critical Race Theory education concept, telling Fox News’ Sean Hannity that it only serves to divide “kids based on race.” Democratic lawmakers are pushing back, calling DeSantis moves against CRT as being nothing more than a “strawman” argument. Hours after AG Commissioner Nikki Fried came out defending Crist after the Florida GOP mistakenly called him antisemitic, Crist returned the favor, defending Fried’s recent amoebic fundraising efforts.
The Floridian caught up to Crist outside of the House Chamber in the Capitol where we asked him if he thought her race was having fundraising troubles.
In true Charlie form, he stated, “I don’t think so, we’ll know by the end of the month.”
Those of us that know Charlie will argue that what he really meant to say was, ‘yeah, she didn’t raise a whole lot of cash, but we can’t say if she is sunk until later this month.’
That’s it.
We asked Crist about DeSantis's recent bill signings, and while he said that he had to read into the ‘Prayer in School’ law before he could make an assessment, he did take a shot at the governor over SB 90, the controversial election integrity law.
“He’s trying to suppress votes, it's sad,” said Crist. “When you’re fighting against being able to vote, you are fighting against Democracy.”
This could be the premier congressional contest of the 2022 midterm election.
A week or so after Sabatini announced that he would be challenging Murphy, Murphy put out fundraising ask labeling Sabatini a Trump nutjob. Game on! READ MORE
