Over the weekend, the NRA caught tons of heat over their Mother's Day post that promoted gun use for moms, as well as being accused of "using children as props."
The recent advertisement campaign featured a mother and her daughter touting guns with the caption, "On top of the other millions of jobs moms have," adding, "NRA moms fight for our right to self-defense, while also defending themselves, their families and communities."
However, the message was not necessarily received with the most welcoming arms. Among the many responses, the Palmer Report, a left-wing political blog, retweeted the message, accusing the NRA of "felony child abuse" and adding that the NRA is a "terrorist group":
This is felony child abuse. Arrest this woman, rescue this child, and shut the NRA down like the terrorist group that it is. https://t.co/nyprPZW1Jg

The Huffington Post also did not hesitate to publish their grievances, as they found the advertisement not only to be in poor taste but also in timing.
In their recent article entitled, "'WTF Is Wrong With You?': NRA Trashed For Tasteless Meme After Mass Shooting" the article asserted that the NRA shouldn't have used this specific advertisement after a Colorado Spring shooting left 7 dead, making it America's 194th mass shooting of 2021.
Coincidentally, the shooting occurred at a birthday party, where the gunman killed his girlfriend, and then himself. On that same day, Mother's Day, this ad drew tons of backfire from people as notable as John Pavlovitz who joined many in calling the Association a terrorist organization.
