Sen Scott says Rep. Stephanie Murphy can't beat Marco Rubio

Share

Shortly after he addressed the Conservative faithful at the 2021 CPAC convention in Orlando, Senator Rick Scott (R) and National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) Chairman, told The Floridian that he expected Senator Marco Rubio (R) would have a “big win” against potential Democratic Senate candidate, Rep. Stephanie Murphy.

Sen. Scott also said that he didn’t believe that anyone in the Democratic Party would be able to defeat Sen. Rubio in his 2021 re-election bid.

“I think we are going to have a big win,” said Sen. Scott “Trump had a big win. People are seeing that Republican leadership is better than Democrats. I don’t think there is anyone in the state that can beat Marco.”

More the past couple of months, Murphy has taken strategic political potshots at Rubio, leading many media and political types to assume that she will for higher office.

Rep. Murphy recently told POLITICO that she was “strongly considering” challenging Rubio, but just a couple of months back, Murphy told The Floridian that she just won reelection and was focused on her job as a congresswoman.

As the head of the NRSC, Sen. Scott is tasked with defending existing Republican-held Senate seats, as well as challenging those seats the GOP believes they can win.
